Frequently Asked Questions

What is Play Therapy?

Play is the universal language of children across time and cultures. Play serves an adaptive function that promotes healthy development by helping children express themselves, organize and integrate their experiences, process trauma, regulate their emotions, problem solve, develop social skills, create, imagine, and more. By understanding each child within their developmental context, I can meet them at their level to gain insight into what they are feeling and communicating through play and the behaviors of concern that brought you to therapy.

Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

I offer both in person and virtual sessions. I have found in-person sessions to be most effective for young children but do offer Telehealth sessions for both parents and older children. We can discuss together which makes the most sense for you and your child.

What is your fee?

My fee is $150 for 55 minute sessions and $175 for the initial 90 minute Intake Session. I accept payment via cash, credit cards, check, or Zelle.

Do you Accept Insurance?

I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield NC. For those with other insurance providers, I can provide superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for out of network benefits.
